Ken VanDeWalle Sanctuary Bench, 2022 Fire Pit Park

Sanctuary Bench is a memorial to Mark Robin, Big Sky resident, co-founder of the Hungry Moose, community pillar, and family man who loved the outdoors. Created by artist/architect Ken VanDeWalle as a place for relaxation, reflection, and connection, the sculpture is supported by three steel trusses in honor of Mark’s three sons. The curves of the trusses echo a fly line mid-cast, a fitting tribute to the rivers and mountains Mark loved.
