Thank you to all of the wonderful artisans who made the 2024 festival a success! The 2025 festival is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, July 19, 2025, in Len Hill Park. Artist applications will be available in early 2025.
The Big Sky Artisan Festival is a celebration of fine artisans and craftspeople in beautiful Big Sky, Montana. A gateway town to Yellowstone National Park, Big Sky is a popular tourist destination and offers world class fly fishing, amazing hiking and outdoor recreation, fine dining and shopping, and the renowned Big Sky Ski Resort. Aside from being a recreational hub, Big Sky has grown into a center of arts and culture in southwest Montana. The Artisan Festival occurs the same weekend as the Big Sky Professional Bull Riding event and is one of the busiest tourism weeks of the summer.
The Big Sky Artisan Festival features a wide variety of artist mediums such as painting, photography, pottery, jewelry, and other fine handmade products. In addition to artwork sales, artists are encouraged to do demonstrations and to make connections with potential new clients. Food and drink vendors are also on site.
The 2024 festival was supported in part by the Spanish Peaks Community Foundation and Yellowstone Country Montana.
The Arts Council of Big Sky is pleased to host the 13th Annual Auction for the Arts event, tentatively scheduled to be held at the Grand Ballroom in the Montage in Big Sky on Saturday, March 1st, 2025. (Please note that location and date could change!)
We are currently seeking original artwork for our juried silent auction (~50 pieces) and 10 artists to participate in a quick-finish during the event for our live auction.
Proceeds from the Auction for the Arts allow the Arts Council of Big Sky to make arts programming affordable and accessible so everyone can participate in art classes, events, and community art installations.
Along with benefitting our community, the Auction for the Arts is a full-circle fundraiser that simultaneously creates an opportunity for amazing artists like yourself to earn income and connect with Big Sky buyers while also providing a critical revenue source for our organization.
Along with a silent auction, the Arts Auction includes quick-finish artists who will be completing their piece on site during the event to be auctioned off in our live auction. Throughout the night, incredible food and drinks, live entertainment, and a paddle raise to support the mission of the Arts Council will help create an amazing night. In the months leading up to the Auction for the Arts, public and private previews will be held throughout Big Sky. More details to come!
Through this call for art, we are seeking original artwork for our silent auction and to engage those interested in the quick finish portion. If you are interested or know someone who would be interested in participating in the Auction for the Arts, please sign up for our Call for Art email list at the bottom of of this web page. Official Call for Art and application will be out August 1st!
Thank you for helping create ARTS for ALL!
