Please note that the Open Pottery Studio is only open to people CURRENTLY enrolled in a pottery class or highly experienced ceramicists with their own tools approved by the studio manager (clay is available for purchase). If you have any questions, please contact julie@bigskyarts.org.

You asked for an opportunity to work in the Arts Council Studio and we listened! We are excited to offer Open Pottery Studio sessions for experienced potters and those currently enrolled in a session of All Levels Pottery. Participants in the Open Pottery Studio will self direct their creative process without formal instruction. Please note there is NO OFFICIAL INSTRUCTION during this class!

The Thursday sessions are supervised by Julie Edwards and occur ALMOST EVERY THURSDAY when class sessions are up and running. Open Pottery Studio participants will have access to wheels, hand-building materials and glazes. You must pre-register in order to secure a space.

Archie Bray A-Clay is the only clay body allowed in the studio. It is a Cone 5/6 White Stoneware. Bring your own A-Clay or purchase 25lb for $30 during class with cash or credit card.

We are a community pottery studio, no production pottery is permitted during this class. If you wish to fire more than 7 pieces, you may rent a kiln shelf for the cost of $30.
