Please join the Arts Council for another show in the 2023 Music in the Mountains free summer concert season! This week we are proud to present an evening with TK & the Holy Know-Nothings. The show takes place in Len Hill Park in the Big Sky Town Center and is family friendly and free! Food and beverage vendors will be available, and please remember that NO DOGS are allowed into the park during the concerts. Park opens at 6 p.m., with music starting with Montana singer-songwriter Mike Murray. TK and the band will take the stage at 8 p.m.
Taylor Kingman – known to many as TK, the frontman of the Portland, Oregon-based TK & The Holy Know-Nothings – has described his band’s music as “psychedelic doom boogie.” And I’m hard pressed to find a better description. There are certainly plenty of Willie and Waylon Outlaw influences throughout, but just as strong are the heavy nods to ‘70s Cosmic Country cowboys like Doug Sahm and The Lost Gonzo Band, so pretty much anyone that played a sold-out show at Austin’s Armadillo World Headquarters in its heyday. All of those influences mixed with a distinctly Pacific Northwest coating of edge to it.
With a career in the music industry that spans over more than a decade and a thousand plus performances, Kalispell's Mike Murray has developed the experience and musical versatility to be genre fluid both on the stage and in the studio. Murray released his sixth studio album The Devil’s Rope on November 12th, 2021, on all major streaming platforms. The Devil’s Rope is an Americana album that reflects Murray’s inner most thoughts while traversing the Western landscape. It is a cohesive piece of American art which is comforting, nostalgic and thought provoking.
