Please join the Arts Council for another show in the 2023 Music in the Mountains free summer concert season! This week we welcome the genre-bending group Paco Versailles. The show takes place in Len Hill Park in the Big Sky Town Center and is family friendly and free! Food and beverage vendors will be available, and please remember that NO DOGS are allowed into the park during the concerts. Park opens at 6 p.m., with music starting with the funky vibes of Butte's Desperate Electric. Paco Versailles will take the stage at 8 p.m.
Paco Versailles is a collaboration between guitarist/composer Vahagni and songwriter/producer Ryan Merchant (Capital Cities). Their sound is a mix of flamenco guitar rhythms with disco-leaning electronic production and captivating vocals, a new genre they call Dancemenco. The name Paco Versailles was conceived while imagining a collaboration between their biggest influences, the legendary Spanish guitarist Paco De Lucia and French electronic artists Daft Punk and Air, both products of the Parisian suburb of Versailles.
Dubbed ‘electro soul brilliance’, the Montana based duo Desperate Electric ‘enlists a perfect combination of live instrumentation with killer beats and all the bells and whistles under the kitchen sink’ (Indie Pulse Music, 2020). Consisting of Ben Morris (guitar, keys, vocals, production) and Kayti Korte (bass, vocals), the pair fuse their many influences to create a sound that’s both contemporary and nostalgic of past decades of funk, rock ‘n roll, and soul.
This show is sponsored by the Pure West Christie's Real Estate.
