Instructor: Matter of the Imagination (MoTI)
Schedule: Wednesday, 6:00–8:00 PM
Date: June 17, 2026
Duration: One-day workshop
Location: Big Sky Center for the Arts, 77 Lone Peak Drive

Matter of the Imagination (MoTI), in collaboration with the Arts Council of Big Sky, is hosting a free zine-making workshop centered on science fiction and fantasy. Participants will start with a quick doodle warm-up, then create their own mini zine inspired by imaginative themes like magical worlds, strange creatures, and futuristic ideas.

This workshop introduces the basics of zine-making, including what zines are, their history as self-published works, and how they have long served as a medium for creative freedom and community expression. Participants will be encouraged to experiment, connect, and explore their ideas in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

All materials are provided and no experience is necessary. By the end of the workshop, each participant will leave with their own handmade zine and a deeper connection to the creative process and the MoTI community.

This is a free workshop. Any optional contributions above the suggested class fee (Take a Class/Give a Class, Help a Neighbor, Sponsor Materials) are tax deductible and will be acknowledged via email for tax purposes.
