This hands-on sewing workshop invites participants to transform recycled jeans into a one-of-a-kind denim tote bag. Designed for beginners and curious creatives alike, the class covers the basics of sewing while guiding students step by step through the construction of a durable and stylish tote.
Led by Alyvia Schoener, owner of ScrapHouse Designs, participants will learn foundational sewing skills in a supportive, approachable environment. Sewing machines and all materials are provided, including recycled denim—no experience or supplies required. Participants are welcome to bring their own jeans if they’d like to incorporate personal details or unique fabric elements.
By the end of the workshop, each participant will leave with a completed denim tote and the confidence to continue sewing on their own. This workshop offers a creative way to learn a new skill while giving old denim a second life.
Any class payments above the suggested class fee (Take a Class/Give a Class, Help a Neighbor, Sponsor Materials) are tax deductible and will be acknowledged via email for tax purposes.
