Four Writing Prompts: The Beginning of Four New Stories or Poems
Ken Waldman will lead a 90-minute workshop designed for writers of any experience, ability, and age, though it is recommended for writers 13 and older. Participants will use four writing prompts to begin four new stories or poems while learning strategies to help get new pieces started. Pre-registration is encouraged.

On his birthday, Ken will perform Now Entering Alaska Time, combining fiddle tunes with Alaska-set stories and poems. A longtime touring artist, Ken has performed at venues and festivals ranging from the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage to the Dodge Poetry Festival and Woodford Folk Festival in Queensland, Australia.
Ken is a fiddler with 12 CDs and a former college professor with an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. He has published 17 full-length poetry collections, a memoir, three children's books, a creative writing manual, a short story collection, and a novel.
