All Levels Pottery – 5 Weeks
Dates: February 12, 2026 - March 12, 2026
Time: Fridays, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Location: BASE Art Studio
Ages: 11–111 | Grades 6th to 18+
Format: Multi-week session

Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced potters are invited to this immersive 5-week pottery course. The unique class caters to all ability levels with mixed methods (hand building and wheel throwing) and a student led approach to ceramics. We will meet you where you are and help you reach your pottery goals! Community clay is included.

Those new to pottery will learn the basics of wheel throwing, handbuilding, decorative treatments and glazing. Experienced potters can brush up on their craft and expand on their existing skill with the guidance of an expert ceramic artist. With a small class size (8 max) students will receive whole group instruction as well as one on one guidance. This class is open to students ages 11 and up.

All materials and equipment are provided but participants are invited to use their own tools if desired. Participants in this class also gain access to a weekly open studio session on Thursdays. Participants must pre-register for the Open Studio at the cost of $20 to secure a space. English and Spanish language instruction is available.

If you are going to be absent for more than one class during the session, you are encouraged to register for a different class or a future class. ONLY ONE class may be made up due to illness or extenuating circumstances.

There is an additional fee for ceramicists wishing to throw or build more than 5 vessels during the 5-week class. In addition to the class fee, a shelf fee of $30 will be charged if you wish to exceed this limit. Additional clay is available for purchase at the rate of $30/bag.

Participants in Arts Council of Big Sky Classes do NOT need to have a BASE pass to sign up.

Any class payments above the suggested class fee (Take a Class/Give a Class, Help a Neighbor, Sponsor Materials) are tax deductible and will be acknowledged via email for tax purposes.
