All Levels Pottery – 10 Weeks:
Dates: January 6, 2025 – March 10, 2026
Time: Tuesdays, 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Location: BASE Art Studio
Ages: 11–111 | Grades 6th to 18+
Format: Multi-week session
Beginner, intermediate, and advanced potters are invited to join Julie Edwards for this immersive 10-week pottery course. Designed for all skill levels, this student-led class blends wheel throwing and hand building techniques to help each participant meet their personal ceramics goals. Community clay is included.
New potters will be introduced to foundational techniques such as wheel throwing, hand building, glazing, and decorative treatments. More experienced students will expand on their existing skills with support and guidance from an expert ceramic artist. With a small class size (maximum 8 students), each participant receives both group instruction and one-on-one attention.
All materials and equipment are provided. Participants may also use their own tools if they prefer.
Students enrolled in this class also receive access to a weekly Open Studio session on Thursdays. Pre-registration is required and costs $20 per session.
English and Spanish language instruction is available.
If you plan to miss more than two classes during the session, we recommend registering for a different or future session. Only two make-up classes are allowed due to illness or extenuating circumstances.
Additional fees:
– $30 shelf fee if more than 10 vessels are made during the 10-week session
– Additional clay may be purchased at $30 per bag
Participants in Arts Council of Big Sky classes do not need a BASE pass to register.
Contribute-What-You-Can (CWYC) pricing is available. Any payments above the suggested class fee (Take a Class/Give a Class, Help a Neighbor, Sponsor Materials) are tax-deductible and will be acknowledged via email.
