Beginner & Intermediate Pottery with Julie Edwards
Join Julie Edwards for an immersive 10-week pottery course designed for both beginner and intermediate potters. This class caters to all skill levels and offers a mix of hand-building and wheel-throwing techniques guided by a student-led approach to learning ceramics.

  • For Beginners: Learn the basics of wheel-throwing, hand-building, decorative techniques, and glazing.
  • For Experienced Potters: Refine your craft and expand your skills with expert guidance from a seasoned ceramic artist.

Class Features:

  • Small Class Size: With a maximum of 8 students, you’ll receive group instruction and personalized, one-on-one guidance.
  • Ages 11 and Up: Open to students ages 11 and older.
  • All Materials Provided: Tools, clay, and equipment are included, but you are welcome to bring your own tools if desired.
  • Weekly Open Studio: Participants have access to weekly Open Studio sessions for additional practice. Pre-registration is required at $20 per session to reserve your spot.
  • Language Options: Instruction is available in both English and Spanish.

Additional Information:

  • Attendance Policy: If you are unable to attend more than two classes, we encourage you to register for a future session. Only two make-up classes are allowed due to illness or extenuating circumstances.
  • Vessel Limit: Participants may throw or build up to 10 vessels during the 10-week course. For more than 10 vessels, a $30 shelf fee will apply. Additional clay is available for purchase at $30 per bag.

  • Class Fee: $580/Contribute-What-You-Can
  • Additional Fees: A $30 shelf fee applies for exceeding the 10-vessel limit. Extra clay is available at $30 per bag. Open Studio sessions are $20 per session.

Important Notes:

  • No BASE Pass Required: You do not need a BASE pass to register for Arts Council of Big Sky classes.
  • Tax-Deductible Contributions: Payments above the suggested class fee (e.g., Take a Class/Give a Class, Help a Neighbor, Sponsor Materials) are tax-deductible and will be acknowledged via email for tax purposes.
