Beginner & Intermediate Pottery with Sierra Hooge
Join Sierra Hooge for an immersive 10-week pottery course that caters to all skill levels. This class combines hand-building and wheel-throwing techniques with a student-led approach to ceramics.
- For Beginners: Learn the fundamentals of wheel-throwing, hand-building, decorative treatments, and glazing.
- For Experienced Potters: Refine your skills and expand your techniques with guidance from an expert ceramic artist.
Class Highlights:
- Small Class Size: With a maximum of 8 students, you’ll receive both group instruction and one-on-one guidance.
- Open to Ages 11+: This course is designed for students ages 11 and up.
- Materials & Equipment Provided: All materials and tools are included, though you’re welcome to bring your own tools if preferred.
- Weekly Open Studio Access: Participants gain access to weekly Open Studio sessions. Pre-registration is required at $20 per session to secure a spot.
- Language Options: Instruction is available in both English and Spanish.
Additional Information:
- Attendance Policy: If you need to miss more than two classes, please consider registering for a future session. Only two make-up classes are allowed due to illness or extenuating circumstances.
- Vessel Limit: Each participant may throw or build up to 10 vessels during the 10-week course. If you wish to exceed this limit, a $30 shelf fee will apply. Additional clay is available for purchase at $30 per bag.

- No BASE Pass Required: You do not need a BASE pass to register for Arts Council of Big Sky classes.
- Tax-Deductible Contributions: Payments above the suggested class fee (e.g., Take a Class/Give a Class, Help a Neighbor, Sponsor Materials) are tax-deductible and will be acknowledged via email for tax purposes.
